Charlestown

A charming Grade II listed harbour and a Poldark connection are just a couple of the reasons that you’ll want to head to Charlestown. The Shipwreck Treasure Museum is a must-visit whilst in Charlestown, providing a unique insight into the history of Charlestown and an opportunity to venture through underground tunnels that were once used to load clay onto ships moored in the harbour. Nowadays tourism is the main business in Charlestown with a nice selection of shops and café’s scattered around the harbour.

Polkerris

45 min walk 2 miles

Accessed from the coastal footway from Par Beach, this is a favourite spot for families who love the sandy beach, sauna and other facilities, including a pub and restaurant. It’s also popular for those seeking activities on the water with a slipway, watersport equipment for hire and water sports tuition available.

Football Golf

A great family fun day out for all ages and abilities with 2 courses to play. Football golf uses the same rules as golf but instead of using a golf club, players kick a football around the course and into the hole. It takes a group of 4 around 2hrs to complete 18 holes and with on-site refreshments and a bar, football golf can be enjoyed by all.

Bodmin

With routes going out in all directions, Bodmin has plenty that will fit the bill for a grand day out. You can get steamed up at the Bodmin Railway, Cornwall’s only full-size working steam railway or explore Bodmin Keep, home of the evocative Cornwall’s Army Museum. Take in the Countryside along the many cycling routes Bodmin offers and even stop off at the infamous Jamaican Inn. For those who prefer a more paranormal experience, Bodmin Jail offers much to discover if you dare!
